Davy DeKrey, a PhD student at the University of Minnesota, is conducting research into fungal diseases of grapevines and apple trunks. He is seeking grape and apple wood samples from growers in the Upper Midwest, to be used in developing a new rapid diagnostic test for identifying several fungal pathogens that infect wood. The test will potentially be implemented by plant disease clinics.

While this test will eventually be rapid, the initial development period may take some time! Once available, individual test results will be sent to contributing growers. Results will remain confidential by grower, although they may be reported to the county-level in a scientific publication.

Davy is available via email, text, or call during typical working hours (Cell: 218-760-9355). We look forward to hearing from you, and thank you in advance for your contributions!
