Petite Pearl, a wine grape cultivar commonly planted in Minnesota, has a new fact sheet available! Written by the breeder, Tom Plocher, and previous Small Fruit Extension expert, Annie Klodd, the sheet is a great resource for anyone looking to establish a Petite Pearl planting.

Grape and apple wood samples needed

PhD student Davy DeKrey is seeking grape and apple wood samples from growers in the Upper Midwest to develop a new rapid diagnostic test for identifying several fungal pathogens that infect wood.

New paper out now from the UMN and Iowa State

Our very own Drew Horton, experimental winemaker with the Grape Breeding & Enology program, has recently published a new paper entitled “Effect of Whole Cluster Fermentation on Phenolics in Cold-Hardy Hybrid Wines.” The paper was published this month via Food and Bioprocess Technology.
